This is a new year 2010. A year for new things. I was sitting here just thinking about my
relationship with Jesus, and how I need to spend more time with Him, at His feet. I'm
repenting for not being more consistent in seeking Him. Lord forgive me. "The word says,
in Deuteronomy 4:29---But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him
if you seek Him with all our heart and with all your soul. God wants us to seek and spend
time with Him. And not just call on Him when we are in trouble, which I have also been
guilty of. So this year my aim is to spend more quality time with my Lord. How about you?
I use to think I was spending time with the Lord in my bible studies, homegroups, church
service etc. But in reality that is not spending good quality quiet time with Him. So, let's
all strive this year to take some time out of our busy days to sit at the feet of Jesus and
spend time seeking Him. I am, are you? Till next time.

Prayer Time
How is your prayer life? Are you giving God any time of your busy day?
What is prayer time really like?
Regular prayer time is setting aside time to spend with God. Praising,
Thanking, Worshipping and Petitioning. We should take time to Praise
God in our prayers and Thanking Him for the things He has done for us.
The same way we praise and thank each other. Also, worship God for who
He is. He is God. The only God, The Almight God, who is worthy of our
worship and praise. Petitions are the things we ask for, our wants and
desires and needs for ourselves and others. Also, it's our time to ask for
forgiveness. We express our love for God and one another by having a
time of prayer.
The bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to Pray without Ceasing. Uhm!!!
What does that look like? Are we to walk around with prayers constanlty
coming out of our mouths? I don't think so, how would we work or get
anything done if that is all we would be doing? Maybe it does mean for us
to be continually in an attitude of prayer. To think on God continually.
How about Pop-corn prayers? Little one liners of Thanksgiving and Praises
thru-out our day. Ex; Lord, I thank you for giving me a wonderful family;
Lord, I love you. We can never let God know enuif how thankful we are, or
how much we love Him. Give it a try.
Intercession is praying on behalf of another. In 1 John 2:1 it says we have an
advocate with the Father and that is Jesus Christ, the righteous. We on the
other hand can be an advocate for someone else. To pray on behalf of someone.
To keep our family and brothers and sisters in Christ before the Lord.
The greatest gift we can give one another is prayers... Annonymous
Prayer is greatly needed in our lives and for others. So are you willing to
set aside more time for God? or even to send up those Pop-corn prayers
during your busy day. God wants to hear from you.

The Holy Spirit's Role in our Lives
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity; God, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
All a separate entity but one just the same.
Jesus said in,
John 14:16, And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper,
that He may abide with you forever. (NKJ)
also,
John 14:26, But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will
send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance
all things that I said to you. (NKJ)
My question is, are you seeking the Holy Spirit to work in your life? When Christ
was speaking with His disciples, He told them He was going away but He was not
going to leave them defenseless. He prayed for God to give us His Spirit, the
Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is here to help us, to teach us, to guide us, to protect
us. Are your seeking Him? Praying, reading the Word of God finding out all there
is to know about the Holy Spirit. In this day and time, with the economic
situation, people losing their jobs, divorce on the rise, drugs, domestic and sexual
abuse; we need wisdom and the comfort of the Holy Spirit in our lives, or we
could be living in fear instead of freedom in Christ. So, pray and ask the Holy
Spirit to live within you, and to walk with you daily, to help you live the godly life
God has intended all of us to live.

To Look Good and Feel Good
Scriptures: Jeremiah 29:11-13, Proverbs 23:17, 24:16, 1Corinthians 13:4-8
I was watching on the NRB channel on TV, the Kim Jacobs show. Her guest was Todd
Albaum, owner of the Scarlett Plus Size Boutique, in Charlotte, NC. They were talking'
about fashion, and I started thinking about the inside as well as the outside. Alison quoted
accept our flaws, put on color, and go with it and celebrate your curves. I was thinking how
important it is to women to look good and feel good, but we don't. Especially some of us
plus size women, the media portrays the perfect woman as being thin in order for her to
look good. Well it can be the same with our Christian walk. We daily face challenges on
our journey. We feel insecure, intimidated, racked with fear. These things keep us from
going on in the Lord. So as Alison put it, we need to accept our flows, put on Jesus and go
on in Him. So, you say how do we do it? Well, first, we go to God and talk to Him in our
prayers. Tell Him how you feel, what is on your mind. He is waiting to hear from you.
None of us are perfect. Secondly, we are in a daily battle. We have an enemy, and we need
to recognize him and his tactics. He wants to see you down. Therefore, put on God's word,
His armor to help ward off the enemy's attacks against you. Remember, the devil is roaming
around seeking whom he may devour. Let it not be you!! Get in God's word. Thirdly,
go with Jesus. He is our advocator. He intercedes to our Father on our behalf. He loved us
so much, that He gave His very life for us. Who more should we want to have on our side.
So, in order to lood good and feel good go with God. He loves you.

Stay Connected
John 15:4-6 says, I am the vine; you are the branches, If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. This is such a good scripture. I am studying "The Spirit-Controlled Life", and we
started out with this scripture. In short, we need the Lord in our life, without Him we can do
nothing, we can bear no good fruit. He is our life source. What life source are you tapped into?
Jesus is givng us an invitiation to dwell in him, it is our choice to either decline or accept.
He is the vine and we are the branches, and we know that the branches of a vine can't live by itself. Well it is the same with us, we need Jesus in our lives in order to live a quality life. The vine gives life, as Jesus gives us life in Him. He provides life, strength and fruit for us. If He is
not in us, we will whither and die. I don't mean literally, but spiritually. It is vital for us to stay connected. When we try to do things in our own strength, it is only temporary. When trials come and get really rough and hard to handle, our own strength will dwindle. Whereas, in Him we have the power to draw on Him for peace, strength and joy in our lives. It is a peace and strength that will pass all understanding. Our hearts desire should be to please God. Paul
said in Romans, that good is in him, he wills what is right, but cannot do, and the things he doesn't want to do he does. Well without God that is what we do. We are slaves to whatever
controls us. (2 peter 2:19b amp). I don't know about you, but I don't want to be a slave to anything or anyone. So, I will stand on God's word, "I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13nkj). So I will leave you with this question, Who are you connected to? The best choice would be to choose Jesus, Let him be your life-source. I am.

Seek First the Kingdon of God
Matthew 6:33 Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
There is so much more to Bible Study and our Spiritual Growth than just reading and responding to scriptures. If you really want to grow in the Lord, then you will have to make a commitment to truly seek God out, even when you don't feel like it. God loves you and wants to commune with you. He wants us to really come to Know Him and not just know of Him. The only way you'll get to Know Him is by spending time in His word, meditating and seeking Him. In Deuteronomy 4:29 it says, Seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. God knows our hearts, He knows if we are just reading the scriptures or if we are really seeking Him out. We may fool others but we can't fool God. He knows all and sees all. "He" knows our hearts. Isaiah 58:2 says, They, sought Him daily, and delight to know My ways....are you seeking Him daily or just once a week on Sundays? Take
time out of your busy schedules, and make time to seek the Lord.
It is only through making time to seek Him daily that you will become the Christian you are pre-destined to be. Let's desire to be all that God would have us to be. Do you realize that by seeking God daily that your faith will grow stronger. Remember we have an enemy that's out to distract us. He doesn't want us to be followers of Christ. Because we are followers of
Christ, we are on the attack. And since we are on the attack, it would benefit us to know who
our God is, His word and what He can do for us. So that when we are being attacked the word that we have in our hearts will rise up and be used as a sword against the enemy. The enemy never sleeps, he is always busy trying to lay stumbling blocks in our lives. Seek God early in the morning, He can and will move some or all of the obstacles that has been laid before you. God loves you and wants the best for you and I do too.
